Where are the tears when you need them?
What are these fears - shall I heed them?

I'll take the emptiness,
I'll take the loss,
Take it all down,
But not this night,
Not tonight.

In some frightful hoax,
This friend turned upon me,
I worry and wonder,
"Have I become theirs to see?"

I'll take the dizziness,
I'll take the thrill,
Take it all down,
But not this night,
Not tonight.

In some subtle joke,
This friend turned upon me,
I wonder and worry,
"Have I become this simple plea?"

I'll take the loneliness,
I'll take the fear,
Take it all now,
But not this night,
Not tonight.

Where are the tears when you need them?
What are these fears - shall I heed them?
